Karen Bagnard is an artist of Danish descent who works from a studio in her home nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel mountains. Her drawing table faces a North window where she can be seen working in the wee hours of dawn when the world is most peacefully conducive to creative work. She believes in the healing powers of creative energy.

The daughter of two artists, she was always encouraged to develop her natural talents. She studied art at Pasadena City College, but considers herself to be largely self-taught. The artist uses watercolors and color inks to create her original work. The reproduction used in producing the various products are then embellished with dimensional accents of color and light.

Karen developed her unique line of cards in 1988, began selling them locally in 1989 and today they are sold nationally and in England. Her frameable art cards have become collectibles.
